We are delighted to announce that John Train’s new album, Cowboy Dreams, is now available on bandcamp
It was recorded last summer at Gradwell House in Haddon Heights, NJ by the legendary John Anthony. About 15 years ago, my wife, Jodi, took up horseback riding and, as a result, I’ve spent a lot of time around barns in Philadelphia. Cowboy Dreams is inspired by the people and horses I met along the way. For the full story check out the liner notes.
Note: Cowboy Dreams will not be issued on cd and we do not plan to offer it on other streaming services. I recognize that these days most people expect to get their music for free or close to it but, man, we’d sure appreciate it if you went over to bandcamp and bought the record to support John Train. $10 for the full album or $1 per song. We’re really excited about this one and are eager for you to hear it. For you old heads, we will have vinyl by early next year as the vaunted Chapter 7 Records has decided to press Cowboy Dreams up on shellac. This’ll be the first John Train record on vinyl!
Also be sure to check out the video below – filmed, directed, and edited by our own Mark Schreiber – for “Blood Horses”, one of the tracks from Cowboy Dreams. Incredible work, Senor Schreiber!
Finally, here are the details for this Saturday’s July 16th sold out show at Gradwell House where we will perform both the new record and Looks Like Up (21st Anniversary). We are thrilled that we will be joined by Rosie McNamara-Jones on fiddle and John Anthony on percussion>>>>
Location: Gradwell House, 511 Station Avenue, Haddon Heights, NJ.
First Set (Cowboy Dreams): 7PM
Second Set (Looks Like Up): 8:15PM
This is a seated event. First come first serve in terms of where you sit.
There will be tomato pie, soft drinks, and limited amounts of beer. The Train Army is not exactly known for tee-totalling. So if you want to drink throughout the evening, BRING YOUR OWN!
If you were unable to get tickets for Gradwell, we look forward to seeing you back at Ferg’s in September.
I hope everyone is having a good summer.
